Unfortunately, incidents happen daily which are unexpected, and we can’t plan for. When you think of crime scene clean ups, you’d be forgiven for thinking the police will deal with them, sometimes this is the case, but often it is not.
There are other incidents and accidents that may occur to loved ones, or in a property you are responsible for, that may not even require the police if no crime has taken place. It could be an accident resulting in an injury where blood or other bodily fluids are present, and the main priority is seeking medical attention.
Whatever the circumstances, cleaning up after any type of traumatic incident is not something that anyone who isn’t trained should be doing. Not only can it be distressing, but it is also important to use the correct methods, products and PPE to stay safe and be effective. The disposal of biohazard waste needs to be done legally and responsibly.
We work efficiently and discreetly to take care of situations in a delicate manner so that people affected need not have the extra burden.
Sadly, it is fairly common for people pass away on their own in their homes. This is known as an unattended death. On occasion the cause of death could create a clean-up, or if the deceased is not found straight away, then the body could start to decompose which would mean a clean up would be required.
The coroner or undertaker will only take away the deceased, they will not provide a clean up of the area. Often family, loved ones, or people responsible for the property aren’t aware that our services exist, and they will do the clean-up themselves. Of course, this can be extremely traumatic at an already distressing time.

Hoarding disorder is a mental health condition which means people have a compulsion to keep things to an excessive level.
Often the items themselves are not hazardous, such as clothes, paperwork, or general clutter, but the sheer volume makes the living environment extremely unsafe. Fire is often a big risk with large amounts of flammable objects and no safe exit routes. Trip, fall and crush hazards are often a factor as well.
Sometimes the items hoarded are a risk in themselves, such as rotten food, excessive dirt, and bodily fluids. Not keeping areas clean and hygienic can create breeding grounds for bacteria and may attract insect and rodent infestations.
The situation is often extremely delicate, especially if the client is still in residence and resisting change. Sometimes situations get so dangerous they are forced to have their home cleared and cleaned as part of a multiagency intervention and it can be extremely distressing for them.
We are highly experienced with hoarder clearances and have worked on projects both directly with the client in residence, and with the clients’ families when the hoarder is no longer in residence.
Our founders, Victoria and Jo, have qualifications in mental health awareness, Safeguarding and hoarding specific qualifications, enabling us to find the most appropriate, and safest ways of interacting with the client or their family, and to provide the best service possible.
We offer full clean-ups of drug use sites.
This could be inside a property and/or outside on the land. It could also be in a public place, such as parkland, in alleyways, or behind buildings. Anywhere that could pose a risk to the general public. We will do a full sweep of the area and dispose of the waste appropriately and legally. Often in drug use sites there are other biohazards present due to the nature of the activity. As well as ensuring the area is clear of paraphernalia, we also offer decontamination and deep cleans of the areas affected if required.
As part of our extensive trauma clean up services, we are also able to offer highway cleans following road traffic collisions. Our method is environmentally friendly, safe, and we dispose of waste appropriately and legally.
Sometimes people have poor physical or mental health which can affect their ability to keep their living spaces clean and safe. They may struggle with housework and over time this can become overwhelming and out of control.
It may be that the client needs a reset to get them back on track, or sometimes they may need further ongoing support from wellbeing teams.
Often people are struggling to cope until someone ‘finds out’. They may get admitted to hospital and during a discharge assessment it is found that their living conditions are unsafe or unsanitary. Sometimes we get contacted by the local authorities, support organisations or family members to ask for help.
We are qualified in mental health awareness and safeguarding and have lots of experience with helping the most vulnerable people in society by resetting their homes. This can be a declutter, deep clean or a mixture of both. Sometimes some specialist cleaning is required if biohazards are present or there is mould/nicotine removal to be done. We are trained and experienced in all of these areas.
