This is our first blog

This is our first blog, so it seems difficult to find a starting point! However, going forwards, we hope to publish monthly, so we can keep you all up to date on what has been happening in the world of Pocket Rockets! Back in February, we put another team member through the biohazard and trauma cleaning training. As we continue to get busier, we need to have more qualified people to help with both scheduled jobs, and emergency call outs. We have won 3 awards including Best Crime Scene Cleaning company in Lincolnshire! And we are extremely proud of this! Our first pilot franchisees came onboard, and we now have Pocket Rockets biohazard teams in Essex and East London, and in South Lincolnshire, as well as ourselves, the founders, covering Lincolnshire and surrounding counties! We hope to maintain franchise growth and have territories all over the UK so that our services are available for as many people as possible. We are expanding our services all the time. As we penetrate the industry and our reputation grows, we are finding that we are building more relationships and gaining a wide variety of clients including homeless charities and organisations, local authorities, funeral directors, social services, mental health support charities and organisations, and nationwide active response companies. We also work with private clients. These include landlords that have had an incident in their rental property, people suffering with hoarding disorder or other mental health issues that affect their living environment, and family members of people that have passed in such a way that a clean-up is required. As we make the transition away from domestic cleaning to focus mainly on specialist cleaning services, we are excited to be able to help more people with services they may not have known existed. August has been a fairly quiet month due to the fact that many of our team are mums, and it has been the summer holidays. We have mainly been responding to emergencies only, but that has kept us ticking over. To give you an idea of what might be classed as urgent or an emergency, here are some of the jobs we have attended in the last few weeks:

• Four needle sweeps in various locations.
• Removal of graffiti on a shop window.
• Cleaning pigeon guano from a public stairway.
• Cleaning up a vandalised Portaloo.
• Two unattended death clean ups.
• Blood spillage in a large retail store and vomit in a supermarket toilet!

In September we are looking forward to working with a charity called Shine Lincolnshire. They are spearheading a hoarder pilot scheme on the east coast and have asked us to be a part of this. We are delighted to be associated with Shine as the work they do is fantastic. We are also making a name for ourselves over on social media. This helps to raise awareness of the services we offer and the circumstances when people might need them. Through social media, we have been able to offer some FREE cleaning services for the most vulnerable people in our society, using the money we earn from our TikTok creator fund. One of these cleans was for a gentleman who’s home needed a deep clean and nicotine removal. Once we had completed it, he was able to be discharged from hospital and return home to receive end of life care in a safe and clean environment.
